"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember.
I do and I understand."

Bio:  Lori Weedo currently
holds a position in the
Information Technology Department for the Escambia County School District as an Instructional Technology Teacher,
and provides
professional learning
to educators district-wide.
She has more than 20 years
of experience with the district
and has worked as a Business
Technology Teacher and Technology Coordinator.  She
holds a bachelor's degree in
Business Teacher Education
and a master's degree in Educational
Instructional Technology Professional Learning

My goals for this year include working with educators on the following:

Project Based Learning (Math PBL) (Title I PBL)
The focus this year for the majority of my schools will be on Project Based Learning (PBL).  These schools will have learning groups that will be implementing PBL in their classrooms, and I am excited to be part of this initiative.

Second Life Educators of Escambia County
I will also be working heavily on the Second Life Educators of Escambia County (SLEEC) initiative in which teachers have an opportunity to collaborate and learn on the virtual campus of SLEEC Island.  There will be a Virtual Innovative Teaching and Learning Summit (VITTS) offered on October 9, 2010 that will include many innovative presenters who will share sessions on emerging technologies.  There will also be sessions offered throughout the year on various technology tools and content that will provide inservice points to teachers who are interested in online professional learning.

TLGF Program
I will continue to work with educators in the TLGF program by supporting them to improve the use of technology in the learning environment.

Technology Coordinators
Another of my goals is providing Technology Coordinators support in their endeavors to improve students' use of technology for learning.  This will include providing support to schools for the improvement of use of instructional technology as measured by progress on the goals in Florida's Instructional Technology Plan.
