THE SCHOOL BOARD OF

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA

MINUTES, JANUARY 15, 2004

            The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in a Town Hall Meeting at 6:00 p.m., in the Media Center, at Escambia High School, 1310 North 65^th Street, Pensacola, Florida, with the following present:

            Chair:                           Mrs. Cary Stidham                    Vice Chair:                   Dr. John DeWitt           

            Board Members:           Mrs. Carissa Bergosh (entered at 6:13 p.m.)

                                                Mr. Ronnie L. Clark

                                                Ms. Linda Finkelstein

            School Board Attorney:              Mr. Francisco M. Negron, Jr. (was not present)

            Superintendent of Schools:         Mr. Jim Paul

[NOTE: This was the second of five Town Hall Meetings to be held (one for each district), in order to provide an opportunity for parents and citizens to voice concerns to the Board and Superintendent regarding various educational issues.] 

                    I.               CALL TO ORDER

Mrs. Stidham called the Town Hall Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

                 II.               DISCUSSION BETWEEN THE BOARD AND CITIZENS REGARDING VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL ISSUES

The Board recognized the following speakers who addressed various educational issues:

               III.               ADJOURNMENT

      On behalf of the Board, Mrs. Stidham thanked everyone for attending and providing input.  There being no further business, the Town Hall Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
