The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Special Meeting at 2:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the Dr. Vernon McDaniel (Administration) Building, 215 West Garden Street, Pensacola, Florida, with the following present:

Chairman: Dr. John DeWitt

Vice Chairman: Mrs. Cary Stidham

Members: Mr. Gary L. Bergosh (was not present)

Ms. Linda Finkelstein

Dr. Elmer Jenkins

School Board Attorney: Mr. Francisco Negron, Jr.

Superintendent of Schools: Mr. Jim Paul (was not present)

(Note that Dr. John DeWitt, Mrs. Cary Stidham, Ms. Linda Finkelstein, Dr. Elmer Jenkins, Mr. Francisco Negron, Mr. Jim Paul, and Mr. Robert Heath, Attorney, were in attendance at the Executive Session which immediately followed this meeting. Mr. Gary L. Bergosh was not present for the Executive Session.)

I. ADOPTION OF AGENDA

Motion by Mrs. Stidham, second by Dr. Jenkins, to adopt the agenda, was approved 4-0 with Mr. Bergosh absent.

II. REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION (WHITESELL-GREEN V. SCHOOL BOARD OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY AND BASKERVILLE-DONOVAN, INC./THE SCHOOL BOARD OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY V. WHITESELL GREEN, INC., AND BASKERVILLE-DONOVAN, INC., CASE NO.: 00-2377-CA-01/DIV. D; AND GREEN ET AL. V. SCHOOL BOARD OF ALACHUA COUNTY AND SCHOOL BOARD OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, ET AL AND SHERIFF OF ALACHUA COUNTY AND ESCAMBIA COUNTY, ET AL AND FLORIDA BOARD OF EDUCATION, ET AL- CIRCUIT COURT FOR ALACHUA COUNTY, CASE NO.: 2000CA3816/DIV. K), AND REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS COLLABORATIVE BARGAINING ISSUES.

Motion was made by Mrs. Stidham and seconded by Dr. Jenkins, to request to go into Executive Session. Chairman DeWitt asked that the motion include discussion of Collaborative Bargaining issues, as well as the referenced litigation. Chairman DeWitt called for the vote and the motion was approved 4-0 with Mr. Bergosh absent.

III. ADJOURNMENT

The Special Meeting adjourned at 2:34 p.m.
