The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Special Meeting at 5:00 p.m., in the Superintendent’s Conference Room, at the Dr. Vernon McDaniel (Administration) Building, 215 West Garden Street, Pensacola, Florida, with the following present:

Chairman: Dr. John DeWitt

Vice Chairman: Mrs. Cary Stidham

Board Members: Mr. Gary L. Bergosh (was not present)

Ms. Linda Finkelstein

Dr. Elmer Jenkins (was not present)

School Board Attorney: Mr. Francisco M. Negron, Jr.

Superintendent of Schools: Mr. Jim Paul

I. ADOPTION OF AGENDA

On motion by Mrs. Stidham, second by Ms. Finkelstein, adoption of the agenda was approved 3 to 0, with Dr. Jenkins and Mr. Bergosh absent for vote.

II. REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS LITIGATION STRATEGY AND EXPENSES RE: S.J.S. V. SCHOOL BOARD, U.S. DISTRICT COURT, NORTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, PENSACOLA DIVISION, CASE NO.: 3:00cv197/LAC/SMN AND 3:00cv199/LAC/MD

Motion by Mrs. Stidham, second by Ms. Finkelstein, to meet in Executive Session, was approved 3 to 0, with Dr. Jenkins and Mr. Bergosh absent for vote.

(Note that Dr. John DeWitt, Mrs. Cary Stidham, Mr. Gary L. Bergosh (via speakerphone), Ms. Linda Finkelstein, Dr. Elmer Jenkins, Mr. Francisco M. Negron, Jr., Mr. Jim Paul, Mr. Joe Hammons, Attorney, and Ms. Kimberly Rodgers, Court Reporter were in attendance at the Executive Session which immediately followed this meeting.)
