THE SCHOOL BOARD OF

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA

 

MINUTES, DECEMBER 10, 2001

 

 

The School Board of Escambia County, Florida, convened in Public Hearing/Informational Meeting   (Re:  Proposed Changes in School Attendance Zones) at 5:30 p.m., in the cafeteria at Tate High School, 1717 Tate Road, Gonzalez, Florida, with the following present:

 

Chairman:  Dr. John DeWitt           

Vice Chairman:  Ms. Linda Finkelstein

 

Board Members:   Mr. Gary L. Bergosh

Mrs. Cary Stidham

Dr. Elmer Jenkins

 

School Board Attorney:  Mr. Francisco M. Negron, Jr. (was not present)

 

Superintendent of Schools:  Mr. Jim Paul

 

 

I.  CALL TO ORDER

 

Ms. Finkelstein called the Public Hearing/Informational Meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.  Upon request by Ms. Finkelstein, Mr. Ireland Brock, Director of Pupil Instructional Support Services, explained the proposed modifications, changes and/or deletions of school attendance zone boundaries for elementary, middle and high schools in Escambia County.

 

II.   PUBLIC HEARING

 

The Board recognized the following speakers who addressed various concerns regarding the proposed changes in school attendance zones:

III.   ADJOURNMENT

 

Prior to adjournment, Board Members and the Superintendent responded with brief comments regarding the concerns expressed during the public hearing.  There being no further business, the Public Hearing/Informational Meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
