WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A BEHAVIOR ANALYST?
The Behavior Analysts provide ongoing training and support to special education teachers, general education teachers, and Intervention Specialists who serve the needs of Exceptional Student Education (ESE)/Students with Disabilities (SWD) in the Escambia County School District. Priority of services is given to students receiving ESE services.
Their services can be utilized at different levels of intensity. Specifically, referrals to the Behavior Analysts can be initiated for classroom behavior management consultations, school-wide behavior management consultations, individual student behavioral assessments, and assistance in the development of appropriate social and functional communication curriculums for behavior. In addition, they are responsible for developing trainings and workshops for school district personnel on topics relevant to behavior.
In the column to the right , you will find the process for requesting services from the Behavior Analysts. Please note that the process for behavioral assessment differs depending on whether the student is an ESE student with a disability or a student receiving general education services.
