Dear Parents and Students,

         Welcome to Blue Angels Elementary School-home of the JETS!! My name is Karen Montgomery and I am the PROUD Principal here at Blue Angels. I am a parent just like you. I have a seventh grade daughter (Kaitlyn) at Bailey Middle School and a ninth grade son (Taylor) at Escambia High School along with a wonderful, supportive husband, Mark Montgomery. Special greetings to all of our, "angels" as we begin year number eight with the distinction of being one of the largest and most wonderful elementary schools in the district! We are a school of quality and participate in CIM. (Continuous Improvement Model) Our daily focus lessons center on Reading in grades K-5. We take great pride in being a "data-driven" school. We work hard to analyze student data so we can best meet the academic and social needs of our children. We incorporate the use of A.R. (Accelerated Reader), Success Maker (a computer generated program that places our students in programs that meet their needs in Reading and Mathematics), Accelerated Mathematics, FCAT Star, Harcourt Math and Dibels. Each of our children at Blue Angels are precious to us. We look forward to working with them during the 2007-08 school. We strive to promote highest academic achievement and balance that with humanitarian projects throughout the year. Last year's projects included, "Bay Area Food Bank", "PopTabs for the Ronald McDonald House" and a partnership with Hurricane Katrina evacuees.
