Ticket Sales

Once all stipulations have been met for Prom attendance:
1. Clearing of ALL fines, dues, obligations, etc., and
2. Returning completed and signed contracts are cleared by administration,
NHS student may pick up his/her tickets from
Mrs. Joyce Gunn, Finance Specialist for Northview and/or Mrs. Teresa Johnson, Administration Secretary, during lunches on the following dates:
Feb. 27 – March 2, 2012, for the original price of $20.00 per student and per guest. There are no free entries into Prom for anyone on any grade level.
March 12-14 (Wednesday), 2012 for the price of $30.00 per student and per guest.
All ticket sales are encouraged to be concluded by March 2, 2012, for the Prom Committee and Sponsor will need to know their budget, before finalizing expenditures for Prom. No tickets will be sold after March 14, 2012.
The ticket is the entry into the Prom. The ticket will be matched to the master list of sales and receipts. Neither the NHS student nor guest/date will be allowed entry without proper ticket. Secure your ticket upon acquiring the ticket.
Remember, there are no re-issues for lost tickets, no transferring of purchase tickets to other individuals, and no altering of tickets allowed. Please do not embarrass a date by bringing someone for whom proper paperwork has not been processed.
There are no refunds, so please make sure of your plans and your date BEFORE purchasing a ticket. The latest for the NHS student to be certain of the date and to purchase the ticket in that date’s name with the corresponding contract is March 14. Please explain to your anticipated date the importance of not cancelling for the Prom.
Checks for ticket purchase are processed electronically, so clearance is done quickly. Checks which do not “clear” the bank because of NSF (non-sufficient funds) before Prom will cancel tickets purchased by NSF check.

Ticket Policy

1. All obligations must be cleared with Finance Specialist, Mrs. Gunn, before tickets are purchased.
2. All tickets are numbered and sold to specific individuals with signed contracts.
3. All tickets must be purchased from School Finance Specialist and/or School Adm. Secretary, Mrs. T. Johnson, during the appointed times.
4. Each junior or senior, who have no outstanding obligations, is allowed to purchase a maximum of two tickets, one for him/her and one for a date.
5. Neither a middle school student nor an “exceedingly older individual” will be allowed as a Prom date, due to the age-applicable “high school Prom” atmosphere to be maintained.
6. Dates will be permitted into the event only in the company of the Northview student sponsor and must leave when the sponsor leaves. Dates may not attempt to enter independent from the sponsor.
7. All NHS and district rules of conduct apply to conduct and to dress code, for both student and date.
8. The person who purchased the tickets may change “dates,” if 1.) He/she informs the other person no longer attending, and 2.) He/she turns in a signed contract from his/her new “date,” by the end of the last lunch time on March 14, 2012.
9. As stated, NO REFUNDS will be given to students who do not show up for any reason or who are not allowed to enter due to improper behavior, dress code violations, use/possession of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, suspended dates for dates spanning Prom weekend, etc.

Northview High School Student and Guest Junior-Senior Prom Contract

The NHS Junior-Senior Prom will be held in the NHS gym on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Prior to the Prom Dance, Leadout will be held in the Northview High School Gym.
Leadout will be from 7:30 P.M. until approximately 8:30 P.M.
Leadout music will be a compilation of music via CD, screened and approved by Ms. S. Jernigan. Last date to submit an inclusion on the CD music is March 14, 2012.
Ms. S. Jernigan will issue information relative to picture taking for Prom.
All Leadout and Picture Taking activities will occur in the gym.
All rules and regulations apply to the Leadout activity, as well as the Prom Dance.
Escorts/dates for the Leadout, who have been cleared through ticket purchase process, must remain the same for the Prom Dance. In other words the Leadout date is the Prom date.

Prom King and Queen – Senior Class

The Prom King and Queen are selected by juniors and seniors who have purchased Prom tickets. Only students who purchase tickets may vote. The winners are the boy and girl who receive the highest number of tickets per King and Queen.
Winner will be announced during the Prom.

Prom Prince and Princess – Junior Class

Any junior attending Prom may “run” for Prom Prince and Princess.
These students collect monies from the time they purchase tickets until April 12, 2012. Monies collected at school need to be deposited with the Finance Specialist each day on a Monies Collected Form. Students may collect monies at school and throughout the communities; however, the April 12 deadline applies to ALL monies.

Prom Activities

Prom is a wonderful time, filled with dreamland dresses and tuxedoes, and sometimes even accompanied by magic rides. It is a night of year-long dreams and starry-eyed young ladies and young gentlemen. It is our fondest wish that Prom night is all that it can be. It is hoped that everyone will enjoy the night to the fullest in a happy, wholesome, and safe manner. Making Memories should be Making Good Memories. Please have a great night, and stay safe!
As administrators in charge of school-related activities, there are certain steps which must be taken to make sure that all goes as smoothly and as safely as possible. With that goal in mind, please note the following, to help everyone be where they should be, when they should be, and behaving as the fine young ladies and young gentlemen that we know that each can be.

Students

1. Students and dates enter student line for clearance.
2. Students must present Prom ticket for clearance.
3. Students and dates will receive Admission band , glow-in-the-dark green, when cleared.
4. Removal of the band void’s the student’s or guest’s privilege to attend either Lead-out or Prom.
5. All non-NHS students must have valid driver’s license or appropriate state identification on their person, for possible law enforcement verification.
6. Any person who has been expelled/alternative placement, suspended for dates spanning the weekend of the Prom, or who has been banned from Northview campus may not attend.
7. Once cleared and once entered gym, students should report to the back of the gym for lineup for Lead-out.
8. Informal pictures will be taken during Lead-out, for the Prom booklet.
9. Any student attempting to gain entrance or gaining entrance into the gym other than by the authorized lobby screening points will be escorted from the premises by law enforcement and will forfeit his/her opportunity to attend Prom. It is the NHS’ student’s responsibility to inform “outside” dates of this rule.
10. Students who have been cleared for Prom Lead-out are to remain in the gym and are not permitted to exit and re-enter. Students should be aware that bathroom facilities are located in the gym lobby; therefore, students should take care of restroom needs before processing for Lead-out.
11. Students should not leave any vehicles on NHS campus after the Prom, for the gates will be locked and will remain locked until Monday morning. The security resident is not authorized to open the campus gates.

Parents and Guests

1. Should enter the gym through the parent line.
2. Should sit in the home bleachers.
3. Parents are to stay beyond the barricades, separating the students from the parents.
4. Parents should not come down to the floor to speak with the students or to take snapshots. The students have their instructions as to where to report and to stay lined up after they process through Leadout, so parents who try to interrupt this process causes issues for other students.
5. Stone’s Studio has the contract for pictures for the Prom, so any pictures parents wish to take should be taken somewhere before the students enter the gym for the Leadout.
6. Apologies in advance, but the security officers for the night will be asked to enforce this process, since it directly affects the entire Leadout scenario.
7. No food or drink is permitted in the bleachers.
8. Custodial help for the Prom is limited. This is a contracted service, so in order to help to keep the costs low, all students, dates, parents, etc. are encouraged to help keep the bleachers free of trash for the Leadout and to keep Prom-time gym trash and/or spillage to a minimum.
